The Busy Mum Podcast - Episode 4 with Haez Kim from K & T Legal

In this episode I chat with Haez.  Haez is a very busy mum who works in her business fulltime, K & T Legal.  K & T Legal specialise in Immigration law and property law.  We speak in depth about immigration and what’s involved.  Haez has an almost 6-year-old Son which also keeps her busy when she is not working.  Let’s dive in!

Tell me a little about yourself

I am a mum of a 5-year-old boy (actually I would say a 5 and ¾ years old as he likes to say) and I work fulltime running a boutique law firm in Sydney’s CBD called K & T legal with my business partner Ahn.  We specialise in Immigration law assisting people from all over the world to obtain visas to viit, travel, work or migrate to Australia.  We also assist with visa cancellations and appeals and property law assisting with purchasing and selling property in NSW and QLD.  I have been married for 6 years and been with my husband for 16 years.  I love meeting new people and helping other people grow in their businesses and support where I can.  If you run a business and your looking to grow feel free to visit us at BNI Innovate (I am currently the Vice President for the chapter).  We would love to see you there.

What does your typical day look like?

My typical day involves checking emails to flag urgent matters, organising breakfast and getting my son ready for school. Rushing off to work. Answering any emails on the commute to work and social media posts that need to be posted. Working, then heading home at the end of the day to attend to homework and on certain days extra curricular activities.

What is the best advice you have received?

Being clear with clients/ family members/ teachers and especially your children and managing their expectations about your workload and availability. This assists with being able to manage where you need to be and when. I have been fortunate to have my husband and mother who support and help where they can and also amazing mums at my son’s school who are willing to help if they need to step in if I am running late or need assistance with care over the holidays.

Tell as many people as you can about your business who are willing to listen and help you grow!

What books are you currently reading OR Netflix / Stan shows

Netflix – My husband will laugh at this but I love reality show and silly shows “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” “Suits” and “Real Housewives of ______ you name it I have probably seen it”.

If you cook, what recipes can you share / meal prep tips

I cook when I can over the weekends. Spaghetti Bolognese, Tacos, Fish and salad (usually things you can cook in 20 – 30 minutes).

What one area of your life would you like to improve?

Balancing Life. I feel like I finally get into a routine and then a curve ball is thrown at me. So if you have any tips in relation to that, that would be wonderful.

What’s the one thing you do each day (like a hack) that makes your life run smoother?

I use an app called Whatsapp and have a chats with all the people I interact with on a daily basis – Husband, Business partner, Networking groups, school mums. This helps me to keep on top of what is happening in each aspect of my life and is a great reminder for events coming up.

Okay, busy mum! Let’s get real, I mean really real real (is that to many reals). I would lurve to get this podcast out there (in podcast land) so that other business mums can learn from these conversations.  As you know, I am on iTunes and I would be forever grateful to get a review on iTunes and the more reviews I receive the more likely iTunes will reward this podcast with a better reach. Here is the iTunes link to help me with a review
