Can you please introduce yourself.
Married 10 years and a Mum of 2 boys, 11 months and 2.5 years. I am a working mum, currently working 3 days a week as a dietitian at the children’s hospital, I do private practice once a month at a children’s clinic in Bondi and have just started a business, working as an Independent consultant for Arbonne International, a health and wellness company which I do in my spare time. I am also aiming to complete my PhD on nutrition in children with cancer this year.
I grew up in Sydney and have lived here all of my life and my family including my one sister lives here.

Describe for us, a day in the life of you. Do you have any tips or life hacks?
Early start for us, around 5.30/6am when my baby wakes us all. On days I work we are out of the house by 7 and my husband and I take it in turns to drop the kids to childcare. The kids are usually picked up by 4.30pm and home by 4.45pm. Then it’s the usual dinner, play, bath and bed for the kids. My husband and I then get some downtime to have dinner or I attempt to go to the gym. Since I have started my new business I have been sacrificing TV time work on the business or meet with potential clients or business partners. Usually in bed by 10.30pm.
The days I am off work are much more relaxed!
Planning and organising meals each weekend and freezing lots of meals for the kids. That means when we get home from work, we just need to cook some vegetables and the kids meals are done. We are also part of a veggie coop which helps us to stay organized as it forces us to make decisions about meals ahead of time and saves us lots of money.
My husband and I also have a roster so we know who does childcare drop offs/pick ups and who gets to stay at work or go in early. This also works for getting us both to exercise though we haven’t achieved that as well recently.
How has having kids changed your world?
I thought we were busy before we had kids but turns out we had plenty of spare time. I definitely don’t get to exercise as much as my husband and I don’t spend as much time together but I love my kids so I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What book are you reading right now or do you have a book recommendation (author and title) and why?
I have just finished the slight edge by Jeff Olsen. Since starting my own business I have been reading books focusing on business mindset and success. It has never been something I was interested in but I realize books such as the slight edge can help with my whole life, not just business
And lastly what are two things in your life that you would like to improve and why?
Fitness; I used to be so fit, exercising most mornings but I haven’t the time to do so.
Quality time with my husband: we need to bring back date night
What’s one piece of advice you would give your pre baby self
Enjoy your free time and ability to travel
What’s the most useful / useless baby item you have?
My penny Scanlon bag which is huge, great for when I am going out with 2 kids!
What’s your experience like with day care?
We have generally been happy with my kids at daycare. Although they seem to be sick every single day I think it has helped my toddler to become more confident. I don’t have any regrets sending my kids to childcare.
If you have one or more children, was it easier transitioning from 0 to 1 or from 1 to 2 etc
I thought 1 kid was hard, I was wrong, the change from 1 to 2 was definitely harder. Its only just now that we are finding it getting easier to manage the 2.
