Ep. 14 2019 - Belinda - The Skin Clinic of Concord
In todays episode I speak with Belinda at The Skin Clinic of Concord. We talk at length about how she got into business, issues around women paying for these treatment
How do you define yourself and what you do in your business (if you have one) and your family life?
I am the owner of The Skin Clinic Concord, and work as a hands on therapist, specializing in advanced and corrective skin care and treatments as well as mum to two children aged 6 and 7, and wife to my husband of nearly 10 years. I am NO domestic goddess, but do my part at home. My husband is the one who generally keeps our household functioning!
Describe for us, a day in the life of you. Do you have any tips or life hacks?
Rise at 5.30, spend some time replying to emails and social media. Always watch the news and know what is happening in the world. Talking to women all day every day, you need to know what is happening in the world as it becomes part of every day conversation. I start getting ready and preparing the kids for school. Drop off kids and head to work where I can work anywhere from 5 hours to 12 hours depending on the day.
What was the best advice you have received?
Mentally map out your day the day beforehand. Visualize how its going to go before it happens.
Where do you go to get your entertainment? E.g. Netflix, Books, Podcasts, YouTube, and what are your fave’s.
During my recent two week break I discovered Netflix and now I can not stop!! Otherwise the only television show I watched religiously is Game of thrones but normally I only devote time for social media.
What is your go to dinner!
Anything my husband cooks generally but otherwise we love and eat a alot of Asian cuisines.
What one area of your life would you like to improve?
Where do I start... being more organised, being a more hands on school mum, health and fitness, cutting down alcohol during the week
What’s your greatest fear and how do you deal with it?
My greatest fear is always deciding what to do next. I am always trying to be different, to evolve, to implement something new and exciting. My greatest fear is standing still, and becoming stale.
1. What website have you signed up to that you actually find value in receiving their emails
None I am afraid to say.
2. What’s one piece of advice you would give your pre baby self
You will lose your identity for a while, but you will get it back, and everything will be ok.
3. What’s the most useful / useless baby item you have?
None now thank goodness, but back in the day the item I was most grateful for was the Vicks vapouriser and something I still use today when the kids have blocked noses or are unwell.

LOVE MY PODCAST?
Okay, busy mum! Let’s get real, I mean really real real (is that to many reals). I would lurve to get this podcast out there (in podcast land) so that other business mums can learn from these conversations. As you know, I am on iTunes and I would be forever grateful to get a review on iTunes and the more reviews I receive the more likely iTunes will reward this podcast with a better reach. Here is the iTunes link to help me with a review
