In this weeks episode of the busy mum podcast, I speak with Lenore Pearson who is a Holistic Counsellor, Life Coach and a Meditation Therapist.

How do you define yourself and what you do in your business (if you have one) and your family life?

On a personal level I define myself as a mum rediscovering herself but in business I am a Holistic Counsellor, Life Coach and Meditation Therapist (and soon to be author!!!) Founder of Artemis Meditation and Holistic Counselling. I am a mum of three – two boys and a girl – 13, 9 and 5 and I have been married for 14 years. Youngest is starting school this year.

Describe for us, a day in the life of you. Do you have any tips or life hacks?

I begin by opening my eyes and promising myself that I will not start the day by yelling at the kids. Then I walk into the kitchen and see cereal on the floor, milk on the counter top and no one wearing a uniform and it all goes out the window ;)

My day varies, I’d like to say my day starts at 5am but I’m just not one of those people but it always involves a proper morning and evening routine.

What was the best advice you have received?

It actually comes from a quote by Viktor Frankl ‘Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.’

Where do you go to get your entertainment? E.g. Netflix, Books, Podcasts, YouTube, and what are your fave’s.

All of the above. Books are my life!! I keep promising not to buy anymore until I read what I have but it never happens. My faves are The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein, Daring Greatly by Brene Brown and Oh The Places You’ll Go by Dr Seuss!

LOVE podcasts – so many faves but right now I am enjoying Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations, Happy Mama Movement and Wellness Women.

I enjoy Netflix and Stan – I stick to funnier stuff these days, nothing too heavy

YouTube I go to for Yoga videos from Boho Beautiful….love them!!

What is your go to dinner!

Spaghetti Bolognese – it’s the one meal I know I won’t get any complaints about.

What one area of your life would you like to improve?

Last year it was about my relationship with myself, this year it’s about my relationships with other people especially my husband and kids.

What’s your greatest fear and how do you deal with it?

Something happening to one of my kids that is out of my control. Now though, instead of living in fear, I make every day count. It doesn’t have to be big gestures or trips overseas, it’s just them knowing that they are safe and loved.
