Ep. 22 2019 - Olivia Charlet of Olivia Charlet Coaching

In todays episode of the busy mum podcast, I speak with a business mindset expert Olivia Charlet from Olivia Charlet Coaching. We talk about NLP and how Olivia got into coaching and what her first business was.

Tell a little about you, your business (what do you specialize in and how people can contact you) and how you got started?

I just recently moved to Australia after living in London for 8 years. My dad is French and my mom is Belgian, and I was born in Japan! So a bit of a mix, we then continued growing up moving around different countries as a result of my dad's job.

I used to work at Bloomberg in Finance before I realized I wanted to do something else that would be more rewarding and fulfilling.

I completed a Master's in Organizational Psychology and a coaching qualification after quitting my job in finance. Midway through my Master's, I started a dating events company for global nomads. I learned a lot from this experience, but after about 11 months, I realized that my real calling was coaching! So I started my mindset coaching business for women entrepreneurs, which I've been in for over three and half years now!

Do you use any apps in business that you can’t live without?

Not really besides Facebook and Instagram! My team has used websites like Asana and Trello. I've never been one to LOVE using apps. I'd rather spend all of my time with people and clients!

What do you specialize in, let’s go deep into that?

I specialize in mindset and habits. I just LOVE the level of impacts and results you can create from changing your belief systems, your thinking and your habits! It's insane. It's had a huge influence on my own life and business results, and now it's had a big impact on my business owner clients. If you believe you're not smart enough for example, do you think you'll really be open to learning how to scale your business? If you believe it's impossible to make money doing what you love, do you really think you're going to go out there and sell your products passionately? If you believe life is hard and people are not to be trusted, do you think you'll surround yourself with people and grow your business? Very unlikely. My point being is this: what we believe dictates the actions we take and avoid. And if we're not aware of them, we'll continue unconsciously holding ourselves back and getting the same results over and over again!  I talk a lot about how to uncover your limiting beliefs and how to change your thinking to accelerate your results on my Facebook Live Videos in my free Facebook Group.

Where do you go to get your business information and why?

I love books. I tend to research the book, check the reviews, and also see what that author has done in life/business to see if it's someone I want to learn from. I just think it's amazing that you can absorb all of that insight and wisdom that someone else has spent decades learning ! It's amazing when you think about it that we're able to read someone's thoughts! To have the luxury of picking up a book, applying the principles and tools and getting these epic results! Some of my favorite books are "Awaken The Giant Within" by Tony Robbins, "Innercize" by John Assaraf, and "Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself" by Dr. Joe Dispenza! There are lots of others that I recommend that I share in my free Facebook Group, which you're of course welcome to join!

What one area of your business you would like to improve and why and how do you propose to do this?

I'd like to improve my ability to scale my business. I've always found that creating clients and selling has been easy, but for me it's about learning the truly aligned way to scale my business without losing any of the values that I care so much about (like epic customer service for example)!

Some Fun Quick Questions

What do you prefer and why?

Vampire or Ware-wolf?

Netflix or Stan?

Netflix. I've just been using it for so long and it's never been down! That's pretty amazing for an app like that! I haven't personally experienced any issues with it so I guess you'd say I'm a happy customer ;)!

Product based business or Service based business

Service based for sure. I'm just fascinated by human behaviour. But to be fair, any business involves humans!

Okay, busy mum! Let’s get real, I mean really real real (is that to many reals). I would lurve to get this podcast out there (in podcast land) so that other business mums can learn from these conversations.  As you know, I am on iTunes and I would be forever grateful to get a review on iTunes and the more reviews I receive the more likely iTunes will reward this podcast with a better reach.
